Dr Suresh Sharma

Dr Suresh Sharma is a highly experienced GP who has been caring for patients and families for more than 30 years. He is committed to providing thorough, compassionate healthcare and supporting patients through every stage of life, from preventive care and early intervention to the management of chronic and complex health conditions.

After completing his MBBS in India in 1992, Dr Sharma went on to achieve an MD in Dermatology and Venereology in 1997, developing extensive expertise in skin health alongside comprehensive general practice care. Prior to moving to Australia in 2010, he worked for more than eight years with the Ministry of Health in Mauritius.

Since joining the Devonport community, Dr Sharma has built strong, long-term relationships with his patients, caring for multiple generations of families. He is known for his warm, approachable manner, thorough consultations, and collaborative approach to healthcare, helping patients make informed decisions and achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Dr Sharma is passionate about delivering accessible, holistic, evidence-based care and enjoys supporting patients with a wide range of health concerns, including preventive health, skin conditions, chronic disease management, and family medicine.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Sharma is actively involved in medical education as a FRACGP Examiner and GP Supervisor, helping to support and mentor the next generation of GPs.

Outside of medicine, Dr Sharma enjoys cricket and spending time with his family. Originally from India, he is a proud father, with his daughter practising as a dentist in Launceston and his son currently undertaking university studies.
