GP Services

The experienced team of GPs at Devonport Family Medical Centre are all trained in the general practice medicine areas listed below. Many of the doctors are also highly skilled in other areas such as skin cancer, or children’s health.

Clinics dedicated to identifying and supporting patients who may have difficult airways and respiratory issues.

Sick certificates for work and education, pre-employment medical assessments, insurance, and workplace injury assessments.

Advice and management of audiology health issues.

Diagnosis and management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes. We are able to provide HBA1C testing for diabetes diagnosis and management.

Assessment and long-term management, including general health concerns and those specific for syndromes.

Advice about nutrition, stress management, smoking cessation, and weight loss management.

INR testing to identify issues with blood clots.

Advice and treatment about concerns such as STI screening, prostate checks, and physical issues.

Mental health diagnosis and treatment, care plans, and referrals to counselling services.

Health checks including physical check-ups, and tests for lifestyle concerns such as diabetes and cholesterol levels.

Consultations, treatments, referrals, procedures, investigations, and prescriptions.

Provision of all vaccinations in the National Immunisation Program, seasonal influenza, hepatitis B, and travel-specific immunisations.

Skin checks and minor excisions.

Advice and treatment on contraception, pap smears, sexual health, pregnancy testing, obstetric shared care, and breast checks.

All GPs at this clinic can manage most common childhood illnesses, but may refer you to a paediatrician for specialist care of more complex health conditions. Your GP will first assess your child and refer you to an appropriate paediatrician, if required.
